Wrapping of the Gifts
December 26, 2010

I have been a little off this holiday and I feel like I have been running behind the ball playing catch up.  My big worry throughout the season was my children.  I remember growing up and Christmas was pure magic.  Every day was magic.  I want my children to have that same magical experience.  I just worry that with all of my running around and bah humbug attitude, that the kiddos  would lose some of the great spirit that exists during this time of year.

A week or so ago, I decided to make a whole hearted effort to make this Christmas count.  This year I, for the first time ever, had the kiddos involved in some of the Christmas wrapping.  They L.O.V.E.D. it.  It was the biggest treat that they could have received.  They had “drawn names” for each other and had bought their own gift for that person.  That brought the gift giving to a whole new level.

I will admit that this task took a lot of patience for me.  It took about an hour to wrap about six gifts.  We went through a whole roll of tape.  We had to refold the edges of the game for dad about a dozen times, but we got it done… and they loved it!
