I am in complete shock that Kyra is now moved on in life. I had a really hard time when she walked towards her school on the first day of Kindergarten. On Thursday, I watched her walk away from her school as a freshly “graduated” first grader. Ironically, the day before her last day of school, she wore the same outfit that she wore on her first day of Kindergarten…and it still fit.
I have been looking for the subtle changes that have happened and the things that have remained the same throughout this past school year. She doesn’t always remember to give me a kiss as she hops out of the car on her way into school. I always remind her though. The first time she forgot, I knew that she was growing up and I cried a little. However, she still skips into school almost every day. She has gotten past her fear of reading and is now trying to conquer every book she can find. However, we still have to work on drawing the number 5!
I am so glad that we made the decision to move her back to our home school this year. Her teacher, the supporting staff, her friends and everyone involved with her education has made the biggest difference. She is so confident, in love with life and enjoys every minute of her youth. I love it.
I still can’t believe that she is going to be in second grade though! Where does the time go????
