We finally made the trek up to take pictures of the fall leaves at Silver Lake. We have been meaning to for the past couple of years. Two years ago, we made it only to find snow…we were too late. Last year was just a wreck. With being pregnant, on bedrest and on more prescriptions than I care to mention, we barely made it to the grocery store let alone to take family pictures.
This year we made it. Our weekends have been very busy with baby blessings, familiy gatherings, and even more home improvements, we knew it was this weekend or bust. We actually got the kids color coordinated and in happy moods. When does that happen? We made it up the canyon with no fights and the kiddos actually sharing treats. We could nearly hear the angelic choirs singing from heaven.
I brought my stack of hats that I have been making to snap pictures to put on the website and list on Ebay. We got out of the car stretched our legs out and started walking. I put a cute hat on Kyra and turned on the camera to take my first shot. “Battery Low” and the camera shut off. Of course. Harvey had assured me that there were extra batteries in the car. The extra batteries he was referring to were in the Leapster….that was also blinking the Battery Low signal.
When all was said and done, we did get a couple of good shots of our cute kiddos by quickly turning on the camera, snapping the picture before the camera shut off. Needless to say, the hats will have to wait a day to be put on the web.

I love Silver Lake in the fall. I have some photos from 2 years ago during this time of year. It is such a perfect place for a Sunday drive and walk.
The photo of your 3 munchkins by the railing is adorable!!! That is seriously a display at a photo place type photo. You guys all look so good and happy.
Even though your batteries were low, the pictures turned out great! It looks like you had a really great time! Made me feel like I was there too! LOL
These pictures are beautiful. I don’t know where Silver Lake is but it is really pretty! I am glad you got the family pictures done.
