First of all, let me tell you that this is REALLY hard for me to post. I am only doing it because I am so dang proud of myself. However, I am extremely embarrassed that my storage room ever looked like this. So- Don’t judge me! Know that I am doing something to better myself.
My name is Darci and I suffer from Sentimental Attachment Disorder. Yes, I have renamed the common title Pack Rat mainly because I hate it. I have been going through a lot of changes lately and this is one of them. I am no longer letting clutter and junk fill my home. So, I decided to start of my storage room.
This is how my storage room started out. Filled with clutter and boxes of random assorted junk. People (who will not be named) tend to help clean up by throwing everything into a box and throwing into either the garage or the storage room. I actually had no idea what was even in there.
I pulled out all of the junk and put it into our “man cave.” This is our media room. It is more than twice the size of the storage room and look at how full it got.
This is one of many loads that we hauled off to D.I.
Junk that I threw away. Take this picture and times it by three and then you have a closer idea at how much I sent curbside.

I am actually very impressed, as I also suffer from SAD and have found some motivation in your post.
I'm very proud of you Darci…VERY proud! (I say like I had anything to do with the process – heehee)
Good job! The storage room mess is one of those things that just creeps up on you.
We did the same thing with our storage room last fall. We had to start from the doorway and work our way in — we totally filled up our family room with stuff. We had a "garage sale" of sorts by listing our junk on KSL and actually made some money!
Wow! Congratulations! I'm very impressed.
