With the older two kiddos at school, it is just Toad and I hanging around the house during the day. Toad is growing up and becoming tremendously independent. He is a great talker and he is witty. Oh, he has a sense of humor that gets me every time. He is very quick on his feet and has come backs that you would expect from an 8 year old, not a 2 year old.
Well, a day or two ago, I was racing to get out of the house when I asked him to please go get his pants on (his clothes are always laid out in his room for him. He is old enough to dress himself and knows how to do it, yet lacks any desire to run around in anything but his birthday suit. He was reluctant and tried to talk me out of having him wear clothes. After explaining to him (and trying to not get agitated) that we couldn’t go to Costco in skivies or nakies he sighed a big sigh and said, “Fine.” and stormed out of the room.
I hurried down the stairs to find my shoes when I heard, “Mom, I put my pants on.” Indeed he had. Gotta give it to him for creativity. The rule is, if you make me laugh, you don’t get in trouble. NOW GET YOUR PANTS ON!!!!!!!!!!
