Pink is my signature color. I love it. I have always wanted to dye my hair pink. Now that I am pushing 40, I have succumb to the fact that I am too old to do that… so I have decided that I will some day dye the bottom back portion of my hair bright pink. I did it last year so I could run a race, but it was a wash out color.
Well, I teach D track at an elementary school. That means that we are not in school on Halloween which is a huge YAY for me, but kind of bites for the students. They like to have the opportunity to dress up and have a fun day at this time of year. So, me being the awesome and amazing teacher that I am, I decided to do the most minimally effective thing that I could do and called it crazy hair day.
We have had a crazy hair day before, and I did basic braided pigtails. My students were less than impressed. What am I to do? After all, I am supposed to be a professional… right?!?! Well, this time, I decided to spice it up a little bit. A friend suggested a Faux Hawk. Loved the idea!
I went to Youtube and after about 10 tutorials, I found my own way to do it and it worked. I was going to leave it at that… But then brilliance hit. PINK! Pink is always brilliant! I used almost an entire can of pink hairspray on my hair. Can I just say that I am in love. I wish that I could do this every day. I am not kidding.
Anyway, I was able to check something off my 40 before 40 list. I do have on that list that I was going to color my hair pink. Well, this isn’t dyed per say, but I am going to count it. It doesn’t decrease my desire to do it on a more permanent basis… because I LOVED IT!!!!!
