I feel so often that all I do is run around and clean up messes. I know that we all feel this way. I am the mother of three extremely overactive children. While I am trying to get a reign on them, that is just who they are.
Bear is a bit of a destructive child. He doesn’t do it on purpose. He is just very active and has an extremely hard time concentrating on anything for any length of time. While this is something that I am working with him intensively on, he still has a way to go.
Case in point: the boys share a room now which is nice in some ways, but has its disadvantages. In their room is a small dresser of clothes, bunk beds, a small table with a lamp and shelves in their closet for clothes. There are no toys. There are no books (I know, evil mom…. not to worry, they are stored in the next room over.) There are some wall decorations, but they are very high up on the wall.
Yesterday, I spent a good deal of time picking up and sorting through their room. Everything has a place. However, today after returning home from an adventure with their dad, I sent them upstairs for 10 minutes to play in the playroom while I made dinner. Not an unruly request. Right???
Well, when I went upstairs to get them (honestly, less than 10 minutes later) this is what I found the room to look like. However, this isn’t even half of it. All of the clothes were out of the drawers and closet. Why you ask. Because they were looking for a missing Backugon ball.
Then once it dawned on them that it was nowhere to be found, they decided to play hide and go seek in the “piles of softs.” In the picture above, Bear is hiding in the pile… somewhere.
I will be honest and admit that I do have mixed feelings over this. I love that they are creative and cute, but I hate cleaning up messes like this day after day. I do have them help me on cleaning up the room, but seriously… this happens almost every day!
It does make you smile a bit though, doesn’t it.
