I was talking to a teacher who’s children are in my classes. He said to me, “Have I ever told you my children’s theory about you?” THat is a sentence that makes you brace for the worst. Apparently his kids […]
Kelton has been BEGGING me to clean out the garage. He really wants to go exploring through the boxes in there. After telling him today isn’t a good day at least a bazillion times he responds: But mom, I’m just […]
Every year on Mother’s Day, the kids and I go to lunch or dinner because, let’s be honest, I do NOT want to cook on that day and the kiddos doing breakfast in bed (bless their adorable hearts) is about […]
I have had several people ask exactly what surgery Ihad done. I have tried to explain to the best of my ability. However, I didn’t even really understand until I watched this video. There are a few things to note. […]
In December, I fell and hurt my hand and shoulders while helping the kiddos at my schoool into their cars during a snowstorm. I have spent the last four months visiting doctors, having MRI’s, going through physical therapy, and having […]
I have discovered a secret your getting kids to clean!!! Step 1- Take ONE child with you to the store with you (because if you leave all 3 home, you can be sure that the house will burn down before […]
Welcome back my old friend. MRI shows torn tendons and cartilage. So, my doc is taking the least invasive approach first. Injections and a brace for the next month. Shoulder surgery is scheduled for next Friday, the 7th. That will […]

I have consistently maintained that I am not lonely. I have thought over and over about that particular word and even looked it up to see its exact definition. The definition of lonely according to Webster is “sad because one […]
My name is Darci. I am a forty something, twice single mom of three amazing kiddos, one of which is autistic and other has SPD. I have lived a very unique and sometimes difficult life in ways that people can't even begin to imagine. I have been handed a lot by life and learned more than I ever thought was possible. Sometimes I would like to just stop learning. I have learned to stand up, be strong, walk away, take courage, and hit my knees. It has been a long journey and I am not done yet. With that though, if what I have learned along the way can be of benefit to anyone else, it was worth it.
I have a Master's Degree in Education Administration and teach second grade (and even have my son in my class!) I am obsessed with all things style and fashion. I live on a teensy teacher budget, but we do great! I have a serious, passionate love affair with crafts, sewing and DIY projects. I am a recovering organizational disaster with a deep desire to have a perfect house, which let's get real, is never going to happen. I have a mind that is constantly swimming with ideas and creativity. Sometimes so much that it is hard to sleep.
I am trying to be the strong, independent, vivacious and awesome person that somewhere deep down inside of me I know that I can be. I am excited for you to come along on this journey with me.
