For those of you that don’t have the privilege of living here in the greater Salt Lake valley, let me tell you, you are missing out! For the past 2 weeks or so, we have had almost non stop rain. It has helped my lawn look great and my roses bloom but, goodness. Enough is enough.
Saturday, the rain came down and the floods came up! We were rained out of our house. Thank heavens we were home that day. The rain came in through an old basement vent, down between the foundation wall and sheetrock and up under our hardwood floor in the basement. We had to spend a good portion of the afternoon with the shop vac and all of my freshly washed and dried towels mopping up the mess.
The rain also got to the family room bay window and into Kyra’s room. Both were by ways that we are still not completely sure of. I say we rip off the roof and start over. I am tired of the water always finding its way in.
In a completely unrelated incident, the washing machine also flooded that day. This time it was to an imbalance in the washer due to the amount of wet towels that were thrown in there. Not my doing of course 😉

SOOOO not fun! We know how that is. Hope you are all high and dry now!
Was that rain today? I thought today was rain free. Maybe I was inside during this time. I hear tomorrow will be nice and stormy.
Oh Darci, I am so sorry. It is so frustrating when it seems the house is falling apart.
We had several indoor drips a couple months ago when there was a huge rain storm. We thought we would have to replace the whole roof. It turned out it was just the roof jacks (the tubes that stick out of the roof) the seals sometimes crack. It turned out to be an easy fix and much cheaper than replacing the whole roof.
I can't believe the rain! Everyone in Southern Utah and Nevada is praying for rain. You can send some of it our way.
Did it hit you guys last night (Wednesday)? It was the worst yet here. I am sorry your ark is a bit leaky. That is not fun at all!
