New Years Eve
January 2, 2012

One of my New Year’s Resolutions is to learn to take better pictures. I have so much on my plate this year, that I want to do this for me. Anyway, I have heard that the best way to learn is to practice and play around. I heard that a great way to start is to take a picture a day. I want to use this blog (again) as a place to display the daily grind 🙂

My first picture is from New Year’s Day. I decided to step WAAAAAY out of my comfort zone (you have no idea how far out this was) and go out with friends for New Years. The other gal in the picture is a long time friend that I haven’t seen in a very long time that went with us. We have been through the same exact last ten year. Time passes and life gets stressful when you go through what we were going through and we lost contact as we both got busy.

I will tell you though, we clicked very well… which was good because I really needed a buddy that night and she helped me out tremendously.

Although this was taken on my camera phone, this is my first picture of the year. I was so excited to get dressed up. I NEVER do that. My amazing friend, Kristin, did my hair in a fantastic updo…. only to have it snag after dinner so I had to take it out.

I have learned a lot this past year. I have done some things correctly and I have made some mistakes. However, this year, is my year. I am going to make it my year. I have a lot of changes that are going to occur this year and I am ready to hit them head on.

This year, in addition to making a few small resolutions, I am making a vision board. I will post a picture of it when I am done. I am so excited… and a little scared for this year to unfold, but it is all part of my great refiner’s fire.

Cheers to 2012! This year is for stepping out of comfort zones and living every moment to the fullest; for old friends, new friends and best friends; and for living every moment as though it was your last. This year is for seeing the opportunities that lie right in front of you, grabbing onto them and never letting them go. This year is for learning from the past and moving forward, enjoying the present and not taking a single moment for granted, and for anticipating the future and all of the great things that it will bring! Happy New Year to Everyone!
