Nena’s Birthday Party
September 19, 2010

This year for Nena’s birthday party, I thought that we would go simple and do something very low budget.  We decided together to do a spa day.  We used the decorations that we used for her baptism.  Actually, I just never took them down so that worked out well.  We made the invitations.  Most of the supplies that we used I already had on hand.  The party favors were bought in bulk at the dollar store.  We had really relaxing music playing in the background.  All that being said, it turned out fabulously well.

I am so grateful that I had a friend who decorated the house for the baptism.  Her decorations added such a cool, crisp feel to the house.  It really felt like a spa!  I LOVE these colors.  As an added bonus, I think that they are the two colors that look the prettiest on Nena.

For the activities in her “spa” we made soaps and scented, fizzy bath salts.  They then got to paint their nails with glitter paint and put decals on them.  The bath soaps and fizzy salts are so ridiculously easy.  Having said that, I am so grateful that the neighbor mom decided to stay and help.  There were a lot of girls there and I am so glad that I had the extra pair of hands.

We then proceeded to cupcakes and gifts and called it good.  As for cupcakes, are they not the answer to a moms dream!  I love that that are relatively mess free.  You don’t have a lot of clean up afterwards.  And…. they are the perfect size for justifying seconds!
