My Brain

There are certain perks when it comes to teaching second grade.  Some of those perks are that you get to hear little kids say awesome things!

Every Friday we can wear jeans (and we are encouraged to wear our school spirit shirts, but I rarely do) and I wanted to pair it up with my new coral top.  Anyway, no big deal.  I didn’t think twice about wearing this outfit.  I am a shoe freak and have am known for wearing heels to school so these coral wedge babies were nothing new.

My class walked into the room a few moments before I did.  When I walked in, you would have thought they were seeing Santa Clause.  They were so excited and the buzz started over my outfit of choice for that day.  They went off on the color… what a great color… Someone’s mother would LOVE that shirt… I should go shopping with this kiddos mom…  My shoes made me look like the Statue of Liberty… ok, that one was funny.

However, my favorite that day was my one overly dramatic little know it all student.  She was so robust and energetic as she tried to stutter her words out.  Then.. “Oh… that color brings out you… (waiting for something either inappropriate or insulting) YOUR BRAIN!!!!

Apparently coral is the color for me to look smart in.  I will remember that the next time I have to do something that requires thought and brain effort.
