I don’t claim to be genius by any stretch of any imagination and lots of you will scoff at the fact that I dared to mention that word. However, I have lived long enough in my 29+ years to find several things in life and will strongly recommend.
*Dr. Shellie Ring- My kids pediatrician. She is by far the most amazing doctor that I have come across. She is personable, entertaining and real. She gives a lot of credit to mother’s intuition. She is extremely knowledgable and gives you all of her attention and doesn’t rush you through your appointment. My favorite thing about her is that she visited Kelton every single day when he was up a Primary Children’s Hospital last year. She also called me several times during the day to see how I was doing. The nurses told me that she was the only doctor that did that and she does it for all of her patients.
*Lori Van Patten- My hairstylist. Now, I know that you all want to know where I get my hair done….not! Well, I have to give kuddos to Lori. My mom introduced her to me a couple of years ago and I have to say, I am never going to anyone else to have my hair done. The first time I went to have her do my hair, I told her to do whatever she wanted (I had a 3 day old baby at the time and thought that anything was better than what I was currently sporting.) I absolutely loved it! She is so nice and does an excellent cut and color. I am not basing this on my own hair but, I have seen others’ hair that she has done and they look fabulous! Give her a call. You won’t regret it!
*Sonic Burger Happy Hour- My favorite afternoon “get the kids out of the house” treat. We go between 2 and 4 to get the kiddos half priced slushies. When we go I get the Route 44 Diet Coke. If we are getting out to give the kids a break, there is a pretty good chance that I need one too!
*L’Oreal Double Extend Beauty Tubes Mascara- My favorite mascara. Now, I know that I should not be the first one out there handing out beauty tips, but I think that I have finally found all of the right products for me. I love this mascara. Yes, I scoffed at the name as well but the stuff is really good. I have shorter eyelashes and bought this in hopes that it would make them look longer. Well, it does, but that isn’t why I like it. The number one reason is: It washes clean off your face with no scrubbing and doesn’t leave you with raccoon eyes! That is huge in my book!
*Jaclyn Tapia- My daughter’s first grade teacher and an awesome AVON sales gal. She is a phenominal teacher and I couldn’t be happier that she is teaching Kyra. I hope that my boys get her someday too. Also, she is a great Avon lady and has her own blog telling you about her great products. As soon as I learn how to do links correctly, I will post it here. Until then, you can find her on the right side of my blog page.
*Brummel and Brown Yogurt Spread- My Favorite Butter. Don’t laugh at this one. This stuff is amazing. My sis introduced me to this years ago and I am hooked. I love to butter up bread with this and eat it as a snack. Not so great on my waistline but, oh it is divine.
*La Creme Yogurt- Heaven on Earth! This is the best yogurt that has ever been produced. It tastes like cheesecake. It is one of the most sinfully amazing small luxuries available at the grocery store! Try it and you will immediately agree with me.
*Cream Cheese Salsa Dip- My Favorite Chip Dip. I made this one day and I love it. I can eat the entire thing by myself in one day. I use the low fat cream cheese and eat it with baked tortilla chips. I try to tell myself that it is healthy because technically, salsa is a vegetable. That works! Doesn’t it?
*La Jolla, San Diego, California- My Favorite Vacation Spot. Growing up, my grandparents lived in San Diego. We used to travel out every year or so to see them and we would always visit La Jolla. It has become an integral part of who I am. I love it. I have been able to take my children back a few times. I haven’t been back since my grandparents passed away but, I want to plan another trip there soon.
*Training Table- My Favorite Eat Out Place. Since we have three very active kids, we don’t get out a lot. When we do, we head to the Training Table. Being a creature of severe habit, I always order the same thing. ALWAYS! I really need to branch out. So, if you go there, order the #24 (Turkey Sandwich) with Cheese Fries and Dipping Sauce. Make sure that you ask the gal at the counter to top off the hickory sauce on your dipping sauce. Then, sit back and enjoy your meal. After you go home, check your blood pressure to make sure that you are still alive after this one. There is more salt in those things that you would need in a week. Does that stop me from going??? NO!
*Dyson DC-17- My Vaccuum. Now, I would be remiss if I didn’t mention the most amazing vaccuum in the world. I was referred to this one by Sally! I was very hesitant to purchase it considering it was around $600 but, it was money well spent. This is amazing and picks up stuff like you would not believe. I don’t know whether to be amazed or grossed out! Tip though, if you decide to get one of these puppies, go to Bed Bath and Beyond. They have the best prices AND you can use your 20% off coupon there and get quite a substantial discount!
*Magic Bullet- What can I say, this thing is just awesome!

I think I had that yogurt butter stuff at your house. It was great! You are very lucky to have found your hairstylist, Kyra’s teacher and your pediatrician. Sometime when I get ready to cut my hair, I will have to get info from you.
I love La Jolla too and I do agree that The Training Table is a fabulous place to take kids when going out to eat. Very fun list!
I’ve found you at last…my long lost sister. Training Table is my fave and actually one of the things I miss most about Utah. They have the best veggie burger…and I know veggie burgers! You, me, all the kids…we’ve got ourselves a Training Table date whenever I make it back to ol’ UT.
