Maiden Voyage of the X-Box
September 20, 2012

I bit the bullet and bought an Xbox.  I discovered the magic of the Kinect while playing with friends last fall and have been drooling over getting one ever since.  So, after a little saving, I splurged and bought one for the family.  Honestly, it was amazing to see Bear react to playing it.  As you would guess, he is not the most social, interactive child.  However, when it came to playing the kinect, he was dynamite.  He played, danced and interacted like you wouldn’t believe.

I talked to my good friend, Cami, and we planned a night where we could
get our families together, have dinner and play games.  We strategically
planned it so that her husband (and his brother, Craig, wink wink) would come
over to set it up for us.

I am in love with the game, Just Dance.  Even though I look like a total fool, I love to play the game and count it as my exercise.  The kids are amazing at it though and I lose to them every time we play it together, so I chose to play it when I am alone.

In order to achieve top performance, Kaeson has to be dressed appropriately.  He changed between Mario and a raccoon.  He still loves dressing up.  I will be sad once that stage is over.

We just love hanging out with the Russells.  They are my kids best friends.  They get along fantastically well most of the time.

I have to admit that I love when the adults get into the swing of things as well.  Ryan and Craig knew how to move when their turn came up!   (Notice the costume change here with Kaeson!)

Reagan is one of the cutest little girls you will ever meet!  She had a ball dancing with her dad.

Paige is just a doll as well!  These kiddos have the bluest eyes that you have ever seen.

Poor Craig spent a good portion of the evening throwing the kids onto the love sac.  That man has biceps of steel and could do this all night long without tiring for even a moment.  The kids LOVED every single second of it.

Just as a little sidenote…

After all of the fun and games were over, my brother came over to babysit my kiddos so that this handsome crush of mine and I could go out for the evening and go dancing.  I will admit, that it was the very best date of my entire life.  Coincidentally, this is the guy that I would marry exactly 6 months after this day.  I don’t know what I love more… the fact that we had this amazing date exactly  months before we got married or the fact that he was the one to realize that, not me.  I will let you know more about him as we go along.
