First Day of School
November 2, 2011

I think that the first day of school will always be of great significance to me, for many different reasons. I look back at the last couple of years and see that we have come so far! What a great sigh of relief that is to me!

I can’t believe how old they are getting. Nena is in the fourth grade! FOURTH GRADE! That seems so old to me. She can’t be that old can she???? Thank heavens she still has the most amazingly sweet and docile personality. I love being around her.

Bear is a character all his own. I still can’t believe that he is in second grade. I look back to his first day of Kindergarten and can’t believe that two years have past. I did feel bad this year though. Usually I go into the school and talk to the teachers before school starts to explain some of his little quirks. However, with all that was going on this year, I completely spaced it.

He had no idea what he was walking into and was a bit shell shocked with a completely new environment. In fact, he came home with a paper that they had written about the first day of school. When it asked what he was feeling, he wrote “scared.” While I was thrilled that he was able to identify his feelings, I was sad that that is what he identified.

That is a mistake that I will not repeat again. Mom fail big time. Isn’t she getting pretty! I just love that girl.
They are such fun kids.

How fun they have each other at school. Second grade was my absolute favorite…my mom taught 2nd grade and I loved helping her in her class. That is such a fun age. And your daughter is just gorgeous!
