With Nena getting a bit older, she is now starting to form her own opinions. Some are great. Some, I could live without. Oh well. Such is life. I am sure that my mother would tell me that I was worse. Anyhow, since her very first haircut 6 years ago, she has had a short, a-line bob. I LOVE it! It is by far, my FAVORITE hairstyle on her.

However, she is getting older and a little more independent. All of her girlfriends are growing out their hair a bit and she wants to do the same. Also, she wants to be Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz for Halloween and everyone knows that you simply can’t be Dorothy with an A-line bob cut. I mean, seriously. Who would go for that.

So, the hair is getting longer and mom’s biting her tongue a little bit more. Nena is LOVING the fact that she is able to pull her hair up in a ponytail by herself. She prides herself in her automatic part and the ease and convenience of her hair.
The other day, we were looking at a friends blog. She had been showcasing all of these fun braids and thingies that she was doing with her girls hair and Nena was lost in fascination. She never dreamed of all of the fun things that you could do with hair. So insisted that we start straight away trying new and fun dos.
I am not a fan of all of them, but I DO want to foster her little sense of creativity and as long as it isn’t too distracting or in any way permanent, I will indulge her a touch. Here is the first of a few that we decided to try. She loved it and kept it in for three days until I made her wash her hair. We shall see where this little hair raising journey takes us!
