Today as I was supervising the cleaning of the kids rooms (yes, they did it on their own and they did a BANG UP JOB,) I was flipping through a book of CD’s that I had placed in Kyra’s closet. I stopped at a mega CD of Enya. Thinking that I hadn’t really played that CD for the kids, I put it in the player and let them enjoy it. Kyra loved the song “Fairy Tale.” She played it over and over.
I listened to the CD with her and it brought back so many memories of my teen years and my young adulthood. Wow. Isn’t it amazing how music and do that to you. It calms your moods, gets you pumped for exercise, makes you want to dance or lets you fall in love all over again. I know that it is all a bit antequated but, I have to admit that I always have and still do love Enya.
Each Enya song had a little different memory. I remembered being down at Lake Powell with my family, having lunch at Lost Eden and getting caught up in the music. Another was a pacing song from when I liked to go jogging. There was yet another song that was part of an intense romantic movie that made my heart pump just a little bit harder.
As I was googling a picture of Enya for this post, I came across YouTube and found this slide show. If there is any slide show anywhere that embodies my little girl and her love for fairies, this is it. I loved it too. It is of course to the Enya song, Fairy Tale.

That is perfect to a T!
I want to borrow your cd's sometime. I agree about music. I have been listening to Ricky Martin and Enrique on my drive to work lately because they remind me of summers past.
