I just about lost my blog! Whew! I am rather tired of waiting an hour for my pictures to upload on the new blogger (one of the reasons that I don’t blog as often as I would like) and decided to revert to the old template. Well, Little Ms. No Patience over here failed to read the instructions thoroughly and didn’t save the template before I changed it.

Zip…. the blog was gone. My last post showed up, but no other posts did. The sidebar was gone. The meters were gone. Everything. I could still retrieve my old posts, but I couldn’t get them to load onto the blog.

I searched frantically to find a solution, but apparently everyone else in blogger world isn’t nearly as hasty as I am and they didn’t have an answer anywhere for my problem. I thought that I was doomed. I did find one post somewhere in the dark nether regions of the internet. The poster’s screen name was cyberborg321. I know. Scary. It had a sketchy instruction on how to revert to an old template. So, I thought to myself, “Self, why not.” I couldn’t mess up much more than I already had. So, I tried it.

Zip…. the computer froze and I had to reboot. I almost broke down into tears at that point. I knew that I had lost the last, albeit pathetic, blogging year of my life. I waited for the computer to reboot and very doubtfully, almost mournfully clicked on my blog link. And all be darned (yes, I do edit… this is a blog for the kids) the blog popped up. Not only did it pop up, it popped up in full form. It reverted itself to the template that I wanted in the first place. And… all of my widgets and posts were there!

So, what did I learn from this very inspired lesson of mine? Patience is a virtue!?!?!?

Either that or, to heck with directions. Be impulsive and do it the way you want to do it… wait for life to come crashing down on you and when you reboot, Poof! It magically goes to exactly the way you wanted it.

I think that I will do the later. Hey, it’s just my style.
