When I was young, my mother always made really cute birthday cakes. She is quite talented at decorating cakes. I have tried to continue on with that tradition and make my children’s birthday cakes. They don’t always look amazing but, they are always fun for me to make. I hope that when my children are all grown up, they will remember that their mom would atleast make the effort and take the time to do something special just for them on their birthday.
Kaeson is still hung up on Spiderman but, is starting to branch out to other super heros and themes. We are now hearing a lot about Transformers, Star Wars, Clone Wars, and the Incredible Hulk to name a few.
Well, being the on top of it parent that I am not, I delayed buying a character cake pan for too long and couldn’t find what I wanted last minute. Not wanting to repeat the Spiderman cake pan that I used last year, I decided to figure out what I could do with a couple of sheet cakes instead.Well, the pirate ship cake won out mainly because it was cute and relatively easy. It didn’t turn out exactly how I had pictured it, I don’t think that it looked too shabby. I will admit, that I am a bit of a messy cook and when I bake the kitchen explodes. At the end of the whole ordeal though, it does get cleaned up and back to normal. It is just a bit of a disaster throughout. Gotta love me!
