I love bridges. My affair started when I was 20ish and speaking at a medical conference back on the campus of William and Mary in West Virginia. Yes, there was a time that I was respected by people!
Anyway, on this campus was a beautiful lazy river that ran through the campus. It has twists and bends and had neat little nooks. There were reading areas and jogging paths and benches along the route. I would jog past there in the mornings and there was a fine mist that settled over everything. It was absolutely entrancing. It made me feel like I was in a completely different world. I loved it.
The 10 days that I spent there were not long enough. I haven’t been back since but I plan to someday! Anyone want to come along?

I think has to do with us living in Utah where there are NO bridges. I too love small quaint bridges like the one in your photo but I am fascinated with the brides in Louisiana, Mississippi, and Washington. They are all over the place and I have photos to prove it.
Then again, maybe it is our love for Anne of Green Gables when she meets Gil on the bridge at the very end which has just made them seem ever so romantic!
That is EXACTLY what it is! I couldn’t put my finger on it. It is my love for Anne of Green Gables, one of the most romatic movies of all times. Thanks for finishing my thoughts!
