My parents are famous for coming up with amazingly thoughtful and personalized gifts. Every year, at Christmas, they come up with something new and grand and perfect. This year took the cake.
For Christmas this year, my parents sorted, searched through, scanned and digitized all of our old pictures from growing up. Although a great deal of them should be submitted to awkward family photos, there are some pretty great ones on there. The awkward ones are some of my favorite.
I plan to post a few on here from time to time to let you know of our wacky childhood.
Toad eating cake on his first birthday. It is hard to remember him ever being this tiny. I can’t believe that he is 6 1/2 now. We had his birthday party in my backyard with the whole family there.
This picture breaks my heart. I have no idea why Kyra is upset and crying, but it hurts me to see my children upset. She was the most precious child when she was tiny. She still is. She just looks so sad.
This picture makes me laugh. My brother, Derek, used a Sharpie to draw Harry Potter glasses and a scar onto my brother, Dalton. Dalton was NOT thrilled. Kyra was tickled PINK! She kept calling him Harry Potter in a very British accent. We still laugh over this one.
This one makes me happy and sad. This is my sister, Danza’s, graduation from high school. Look at how cute my cuddly Toad is. I am so grateful that I was able to stay home with the kids as long as I did. I miss being able to take care of all of the house things during the day so that I could spend the evenings having quality time with the kids. Oh, and I love this top!
Look at this awesome uncle!
