Apparently, my family has generated a bit of interest because of our quirky, fun loving, spontaneous sense of humor and fun. We absolutely love getting together. The best part is that you never really know what you are going to get when you spend an evening with all of us (or at least most of us) together.
Friday night, we headed on over to my parents house for “Breakfast for Diner.” The family is now expanding its circle of members and unfortunately, we can’t all spend every holiday together. This year my mom conceeded our 4th of July big family breakfast and we all got together the night before to have pancakes, bacon, eggs and the rest of the shebang for dinner. My kids were in absolute heaven.
After dinner and a bit of time on the trampoline, I remembered that I had our trusty “Splash Out” ball in the car and an arsenal of water balloons. My soon to be sis-in-law Jaclyn and I filled as many balloons as we could and we started to play the game. Following Griner Law, the rules to the game were changed and the new rule became that you had to hold the ball over your head and count to three before passing it to the next person. Being someone what arrogant, we would tease each other and hold it over our heads and count to higher number, i.e. 10, 15, making the likelyhood that it would pop on the next person (our ourselves) much greater. Jaclyn seemed to be able to avoid getting wet even when the balloon popped on her. Somehow, Danza got the bulk of the water hits. So, when we called it good, I grabbed a balloon and popped it over her. She returned with vigor and got me just as badly. A full on family water fight ensued and we all ended up getting drenched to the core.
Now, aren’t you all dying to be invited to the next Griner Family Adventure Night. They all start off as tame and innocent as can be but, you never know what you are going to get!!!
