Every year on the 4th of July our family gets together with our long time friends, the Collins. They have an amazing home up Provo Canyon with a gorgeous pool in the backyard. My kiddos look forward to going every year. Last year they were with their dad, so this year was extra exciting!
We usually cook burgers, but this year the Collins family added a pizza oven to their amazing yard. So, everyone had the chance to make their own mini pizza and share it with the group. I made sure that Nena had her own pizza. I feel bad though, she still drools over real cheese.
My brother is a pro at the diving board.
My kiddos are in love with the foam noodles. It is one of their favorite parts of swimming. I can admit, I can think of a few fun things to do with them as well.
One of our great hosts, John. He had retired the day before and was happily living the easy life.
Our other great hosts, Denise and her daughter Erin. Erin is a world class athlete and she is amazing at triathlons.
My dad taking on the great role of grandfather and teaching his grandchildren wonderful habits like shooting mom and her camera with the combo kickboard and water gun.
I love that my dad is perpetually 5 years old. No, really. I do. I absolutely love it.
One of our lovely pizzas.
The very best part of the day was that the kids fell asleep on the way home and I decided to not wake them up. They were in bed by 7:30. I was in bed by 9:00. We totally missed the fireworks, but that didn’t bother me in the least. 🙂
